A woman was mauled by a bear. It was about a year ago and just a few miles
from here; she survived but had pretty gruesome injuries.
I am having an extremely difficult evening with Gary and my patience is fully expended. I’m not sure if “Shaken Old Man Syndrome” is a thing but I decided I’d better step out of the house before I found out. I can’t really go anywhere, of course, so I took a leisurely stroll up and down our ramp. I thought I could clear my head but I could hear Gary inside screaming at the top of his lungs (for no reason other than I wasn’t in his immediate field of vision) and that made it a little hard to relax. So, I got to thinking about that bear…
It was about this time of year and it was about this time of
night. It wasn’t too far from here. Maybe, I thought, if I stay out here long
enough, I will get mauled by a bear. If
I just suffer severe injuries, I’d end up in the hospital and somebody else
would have to take care of Gary for a while.
If I really lucked out and died, he’d have to go to a nursing home.
I waited as long as I could for the bear but Gary’s shrieking got to me and I went back inside.
It’s unbearable inside, too.
"If I really lucked out and died, he's have to go to a nursing home." - You're killing yourself as it is, Kirsten. Let someone else take care of him. <3 <3
